Madelyn's Surgery

Madelyn's surgery that was scheduled for next week has been cancelled. Unfortunately they cannot perform the surgery because she started another fever episode Christmas Eve and she cannot have ibuprofen within 14 days of surgery. Unfortunately for us, she needs both ibuprofen and tylenol every 3 hours to keep her fevers and joint pain manageable. So we now have to reschedule her surgery and try to have it done when she is off medicine and not fevering. On a happier note, we had a good Christmas!! We will be sure to post some pics soon!!

Gingerbread house

Madelyn helped me make a gingerbread house. She loved sticking all of the candies on it. Now I just need to keep her from picking the candies off it! Her 2 new favorite things are her baby doll and the camera. She loves taking pictures. She will play photographer and pose the doll and take her picture. I need to take her to have her 3 year pictures done maybe she will actually cooperate this year!! She got Daddy to pose with the babydoll for a family photo.

Happy 3rd Birthday!!

Madelyn had a great 3rd birthday party at Chuck E. Cheese. She was a little leary of Chuck E. but she had fun with all of her cousins!! She loves her new trampoline!!

We met with the doctor today and her tonsillectomy is scheduled for December 31st. The ENT doctor that we saw didn't know alot about PFAPA but thankfully he said we have an excellent pediatrician who really knows his stuff!! There are only a few specialists in the country that specifically handle PFAPA syndrome so I think most doctors probably don't know about it until they face a patient with it. We are just relieved she is getting the surgery and praying that it is as successful for her as it has been for other children. We hope to see everyone over the holidays!!
